I've watched my brother raise his daughter (my neice) and sometimes shake my head in amazement as to why he doesn't 'get her.' But, I soon realize I'm not exactly being fair as fathers may not always connect to their 'princesses', just as mothers are sometimes disconnected from their sons. As a strong girl advocate, I watch teen girls grow into whom I hope will be self-respecting and driven young ladies.
